Clear join requests, submissions to review, overdue or stuck learners, and learning signals from one prioritized daily queue.
Sign in as a teacher. In the left WORKSPACE sidebar, open Needs attention. The page title is Needs my attention. The breadcrumb reads Dashboard > Needs my attention.
The subtitle describes the job of this screen: a prioritized daily queue for membership requests, review work, overdue learners, and learning signals.
You can also reach the full queue from the Teacher Dashboard preview by selecting View all under Needs my attention.
Needs my attention with summary counts, filters, and actionable items.
At the top of the queue, four badges show how much work is waiting. Counts come from your teaching account and change as you clear items.
| Badge | What it counts |
|---|---|
| join request(s) | Students waiting for you to approve class membership |
| submission(s) to review | Work waiting for your review |
| overdue or stuck learner(s) | Learners who need a follow-up or check-in |
| learning signal(s) | Signals that something in learning needs a closer look |
In the screenshot, the queue shows 1 join request, 0 submissions to review, 9 overdue or stuck learners, and 1 learning signal.
Below the badges, filter pills narrow the list:
Each filter (except All) shows its count next to the label. Use a filter when you want one kind of work at a time. For example, clear every join request before you open overdue follow-ups.
Join requests keep learners from waiting outside a class. An item looks like Review 1 join request for IELTS Foundation, with class name and waiting status (for example Waiting last month).
Priority badges appear in uppercase on the row. Next marks the recommended next action; Monitor marks items to keep an eye on.
When learners are overdue or stuck, the queue lists follow-up and check-in items such as Follow up with … about … or Check in with … about ….
Each row can show class name, due date (Due …), attempt count, skill (Skill: listening, Skill: vocabulary), and how long the item has been waiting (Waiting …).
When submissions are waiting for your review, the same queue surfaces Needs review items (summary badge submission(s) to review). Those rows use titles like Review … submission(s) for … and the action Review submission.
Learning signals are the fourth queue type. The summary badge and the Learning signals filter show how many are open. In the screenshot the count is 1 learning signal; open that filter to list only those items, then follow the row action into the related work.
Needs my attention is a triage inbox for teaching actions. It does not replace class workspaces, the gradebook, or assignment review pages. Use it so important messages and waiting learners do not slip past your day.
